ChileSome facts about Chile:
-1/3 of the country is covered by the Andes mountains. -Slightly smaller than twice the size of Montana. -Population of 17.8 million people. -One of the most prosperous and stable South American countries (other than a short period from 1973-1989- there was an overthrow of the government). -Has a very diverse climate and geography because of how much area it spans (mountains, plains, river valleys, etc.). -The official language is Spanish. -Literacy rate is high! (96%). -Tourism is an important business (lots of people enjoy traveling to Easter Island, a polynesian island that is owned by Chile). Chile is in a more remote of the world and a remote part of South America, but it a stable country and the people there have good lifestyles. Citations: -Infoplease. Infoplease.
